Translation Competition
March 13, 2009
I will send a free copy of the Sow Flowers booklet to the person making the best translation of this popular verse in praise of Rahman’s wisdom:
د رحمان وينا به هله در په ياد شي
چې دې يو دېوال ته مخ بل ته دې شاه شي
Post your translation here.
Imdad.

Got something to say?

You’ll realize the blood (philosophy) of Rehaman at that moment
when you are faced by a wall and behind you is another (meaning grave).
my knowledge of Pushto is limited. i sincerely apologize for any errors. Please do correct me with it.
I think the “advice of Rahman” is a better translation than blood, so yes, philosophy is closer.
thanks
Only then will you, realise the truth of Rahman’s words
When you lay facing a wall, and another is behind you.
- Did you ever send out that free copy? Hehe
I think this verse has a wider meaning than mere translation.
It means that you will realize the advice of Rehman only when you will realize the truth of the material world. You have to turn your back to the material world and feel the reality of true senses of human and all other creatures. One cannot live happily with materials it does not mater how precious they might be.
The real happiness that a soul can feel is by mingling with other soul, free of ego and jealousy.
Because the ego and jealousy will make you lonely, and you will realize the evil of that when you become lonely. And the true happiness of simplicity that you were ignoring.
I apologize for any grammatical mistakes.
Thanks and regards
Ameen! Wonderful insight.
The real courage is to follow your passion. As Baba says:
D 25 The Courage of Lovers.
I applaud the courage of the lovers
Who are steadfast in their love.
They neither change nor shift their course;
Though the whole world curses them.
If someone gives them instructions a hundred times,
They take no one’s advice.
They renounce the world and sacrifice for the beloved;
Who can go to such pains?
This is good - send me your address and I will send one.
Rahmans word will you remember
when your face is facing to one wall,and your chin to the other.
